MapleStory N Chain Game Test Opened
NEXPACE, a subsidiary of the South Korean gaming giant Nexon, recently released a new announcement, revealing that the company’s classic game “MapleStory N” will soon launch a test plan for its chain game version.
“MapleStory” is a classic game in the hearts of many online game enthusiasts, and the newly launched “MapleStory N” is also an MMORPG (Massive Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game). However, this version integrates blockchain technology.
In simple terms, “MapleStory N” turns items, characters, and other objects into NFTs, enhancing the concept of “ownership” of game assets, and making economic interaction more enriching.
According to the official announcement, during the testing period, players will be able to experience a limited supply reward system, as well as a player-driven economic system.
How to participate in the “MapleStory” chain game test? To participate in the test, players can go to the official website to complete a survey to register.
Registration will take place from July 1st to July 7th, and the list of selected testers will be announced on July 18th, with the testing itself taking place from July 24th to August 2nd.
In addition, the company is also hosting a post relay event on Discord and X. Users can download official images from Discord, add them to their X profile pictures, post them, tag @MaplestoryU, use the “#MapleStoryUniverse” and “#MSUtogether” tags, and state their reasons for wanting to participate in the test. Finally, remember to upload the X post link to the designated channel on Discord, and the company will select the lucky ones who will be able to participate in the test.

Gaming giants are joining the chain game market
“MapleStory N” is one of the cases where classic game IPs are combined with blockchain technology, and whether the new MapleStory will trigger a new wave of “returning to the valley” is believed to be of great interest to many gaming companies and Web3 players.
In fact, not only Nexon, the parent company of “MapleStory”, but many gaming giants are investing in blockchain game development. This includes the South Korean game publisher Krafton, which plans to launch a NFT-based metaverse game “Migaloo”, allowing players to create digital assets and experience the “Create-to-earn” gameplay mode.
Moreover, Krafton established a joint venture in North America with Naver Z, the metaverse department of the South Korean internet giant Naver. After the acquisition, Krafton will hold an 85% stake in the joint venture, while Naver Z will hold 15%, and will focus entirely on the development of Migaloo.
Gaming giant Ubisoft is also a European and American game developer dedicated to developing blockchain games. In 2021, Ubisoft introduced NFTs for its game IP “The Division: Outbreak” on the Tezos chain. Blockchain games “Champions Tactics: Grimoire Chronicles” and “One Shot League” are also Ubisoft’s products.
