Taiwan Shin Kong Bank’s “Double Dog Cards” will undergo changes in December! Many cardholders who consider these cards as their primary cards, including the GoGo Card and the Flygo Card, will have new benefits for their billing statements starting from December 1st.
Among them, the highest 3.8% cashback offer for using LINE Pay with the GoGo Card will end on November 30th, causing many netizens to feel “heartbroken.”
According to the latest benefits announced by Taiwan Shin Kong Bank, it can be observed that both the Black Dog Card (GoGo Card) and the Flying Dog Card (Flygo Card) will have slight reductions in their cashback benefits. In addition to removing the 3.8% cashback for LINE Pay from the Black Dog Card, the Flying Dog Card will also cancel the cashback for purchases at CPC gas stations and Taiwan High-Speed Rail.
However, in terms of the Black Dog Card, Taiwan Shin Kong Bank has also introduced a new promotion to replace the LINE Pay cashback. Starting from December, they have added the “JKO Pay” with a maximum 3% Shin Kong Point cashback.
Why remove LINE Pay and cooperate with JKO Pay instead?
Taiwan Shin Kong Bank stated that based on data observation, GoGo Card users prefer using LINE Pay and other mobile payment methods for their consumption. JKO Pay already covers nearly 80% of the scenes where GoGo Card is commonly used, such as major convenience stores, Carrefour, CPC gas stations, McDonald’s, and Starbucks.
In addition, JKO Pay is not only the largest electronic payment provider in Taiwan but has also joined the government’s actively promoted “Taiwan Quick Response Code (TWQR) Cross-Institutional Shared Platform.” This platform emphasizes the compatibility of electronic payments between partners, which means that it is expected to gradually open up more scenes for JKO Pay that were previously limited to Taiwan Pay, AllPay, and Fullon Pay.
GoGo Card’s cashback rate reduced to 3%, are the new benefits advantageous?
Taiwan Shin Kong Bank pointed out that over the past eight years, GoGo Card has accumulated a large number of digitally native customers who prefer online shopping. Therefore, in addition to continuing to offer enhanced cashback for popular online shopping platforms such as “Shopee, momo, KoolPang, PChome, Yahoo, and Amazon,” they have also added new partners such as “ETMall and Books.com.tw” to cover the complete user online shopping scene.
At the same time, in anticipation of the travel boom, they offer 3% cashback for bookings on six major accommodation platforms, including “Agoda, Trip.com, Booking.com, Airbnb, Hotels.com, and Expedia.”
