AI Hiring Wave! What are the Job Opportunities?
OpenAI recently announced the release of their latest model, GPT-4o, which is capable of engaging in realistic human-machine conversations, providing instant responses, and delivering natural language with the integration of text and images. This marks another milestone in the development of AI.
The AI era is now upon us! As we approach graduation season this year, taking a comprehensive look at the current job market, there are already 9,731 job openings related to the keyword “AI” on 104 Job Bank. If we assume an average demand of 2.5 individuals per job opening, there are already over 24,000 AI-related job opportunities available. If we narrow down the keyword to “ChatGPT,” there are around 320 job openings, equivalent to approximately 800 jobs.
Chang Pao-ling, the Chief Marketing Officer of 104 Job Bank, pointed out that AI-related jobs come in various types, with the highest technical requirements typically found in the development field. These include positions such as Prompt Engineers (AI ChatGPT prompt engineers), data scientists, AI engineers, algorithm engineers, full-stack engineers, and back-end software engineers. These roles offer monthly salaries of up to 60,000 NTD, with managerial positions reaching 120,000 to 150,000 NTD, making the competition for talent fierce.
On the business side, there are more opportunities in “product application optimization.” For example, there is a demand for AI application project managers in various fields such as e-commerce, media, news, pets, e-commerce, and catering. The salary range for these positions is between 50,000 and 90,000 NTD.
In terms of content creation, positions like creative digital directors have emerged. They utilize ChatGPT to generate images for magazine media and produce large-scale project videos, contributing to digital transformation in the industry. The salary for these roles is usually negotiable, providing room for discussions. Currently, due to the scarcity of talent in the market, most of these job openings do not have strict experience requirements, and companies are also recruiting university or graduate interns to prepare for future talent needs.
Chang Pao-ling also observed that as graduation season approaches, AI and ChatGPT have become useful tools for job seekers. The ability to use AI software like ChatGPT can be an additional advantage, but it is important to assess the quality of the results. Simply copying and pasting may not effectively showcase individual knowledge and value.
