What happened?
Taiwan Mobile’s subsidiary, Fusheng Digital, has officially launched the “TWEX Virtual Asset Exchange,” with the key highlight being its user-friendly design for beginners.
The “TWEX Virtual Asset Exchange” focuses on safety, simple operation, and small investments, allowing users to invest in Bitcoin and Ethereum with a minimum of just NT$100.
More importantly, as Taiwan’s first exchange operated by a major corporate group, TWEX has also integrated resources from Fubon Group, including the introduction of trust accounts from Taipei Fubon Bank and technological support from Taiwan Mobile.
During the press conference, Fubon Group Chairman Cai Mingzhong mentioned that he personally purchased his first Bitcoin. As of the press deadline, the price of one Bitcoin was NT$3.22 million. The video appeared to be pre-recorded, indicating that Cai Mingzhong had already made a profit from this transaction.
Cai Mingzhong emphasized that as the global virtual asset market moves towards institutionalization and regulation, it will integrate more closely with traditional financial systems in the future. He is optimistic that the complete system of Fubon Group’s financial holding, telecommunications, and e-commerce can demonstrate high synergy in the application scenarios of digital assets.
Fubon Group Chairman Cai Mingzhong has personally bought his first Bitcoin, demonstrating his trust in the platform through action, and inviting the public to step into the new era of Web3 together.
User-friendly design reduces barriers for beginners
The virtual asset exchange platform of Taiwan Mobile highlights three main features: “safety,” “simple operation,” and “small investments.”
Users can easily purchase cryptocurrency with a minimum of NT$100 and complete transactions through an intuitive three-step process, achieving “small change in hand, safe holding, and easy investment.”
Additionally, Taiwan Mobile users can directly access the “Taiwan Mobile Virtual Asset Exchange (TWEX)” through the Taiwan Mobile APP, allowing them to register, log in, and trade without the need to download additional apps.
Currently, the platform only supports trading in two cryptocurrencies: Bitcoin and Ethereum, and temporarily only supports trading pairs in New Taiwan Dollars (BTC/TWD, ETH/TWD), without the option to purchase with USDT (Tether).
For transactions, Taiwan Mobile Virtual Asset Exchange offers methods such as “prepaid” and “post-trade payment,” and provides a simulator for buying and selling transactions and NT dollar deposits/withdrawals, allowing users to familiarize themselves with the trading process in advance and reduce the risk of operational errors.
Considering the complexity of on-chain transactions, the Taiwan Mobile Virtual Asset Exchange will not initially offer on-chain transfer functionality to avoid user losses due to unfamiliarity. Users can sell their cryptocurrencies and withdraw New Taiwan Dollars to their bank accounts.
Fusheng Digital Chairman Lin Zhichen: Building a safe and trustworthy environment to bring positive value to the industry
Fubon Group Chairman Cai Mingzhong pointed out that the global cryptocurrency market is entering a stage of institutionalization and regulation, and will integrate more closely with traditional financial systems in the future. The Web3 era has already arrived.
He observed that many ecological communities have already formed in Taiwan, and AI and blockchain industries are thriving, with the global cryptocurrency market cap surpassing $3.1 trillion. With Fubon Group’s complete system of financial holding, telecommunications, and e-commerce, it is expected to demonstrate high synergy in the application scenarios of digital assets.
Fusheng Digital Chairman Lin Zhichen also stated that the global cryptocurrency market continues to heat up; however, only about 5% of the total population in Taiwan participates in cryptocurrency investment, indicating significant market potential.
He emphasized that many hesitant investors need a safe, trustworthy, and easy-to-operate trading platform. The Taiwan Mobile Virtual Asset Exchange integrates group resources, ensuring comprehensive safeguards from fund custody to technical protection, with the introduction of Taipei Fubon Bank trust accounts and the technological and financial backing of Taiwan Mobile, allowing users to hold virtual assets securely over the long term and conveniently accumulate them through regular investments.
Lin Zhichen further shared that he is a long-term holder of Bitcoin, having purchased his first Bitcoin at the end of 2013 at a price of $656, which has since appreciated over 155 times in value.
He looks forward to the Taiwan Mobile Virtual Asset Exchange, under the guidance of regulatory authorities, promoting industry mainstreaming through high compliance, stringent anti-money laundering governance, and collaboration with all cryptocurrency and Web3 startup teams to bring positive value to the market.
