MapleStory N Officially Launches on May 15, 2025!
MapleStory is one of the classic games published by Nexon. Its subsidiary Nexpace, which is dedicated to developing game blockchain and AI applications, will launch the “blockchain version” of MapleStory N on May 15, 2025.
MapleStory N inherits the familiar interface and art style that players know, but the most significant difference is that this version focuses on a “decentralized economic model” and “deep player participation,” breathing new life into the classic IP through blockchain technology.
Before the launch of MapleStory N, what activities can players participate in in advance, or what game highlights must they know? Let’s take a look!
MapleStory N Opens Pre-Download and Limited Item Rewards
To celebrate the launch of MapleStory N, the official team has launched the “Countdown Web” countdown website, providing players with the latest countdown to the server opening, pre-download links, and event information.
In addition, starting from May 8, 2025, 05:00 (UTC+0), users can pre-download the game on the countdown website until the official launch. According to the official announcement, users must have a wallet account linked to the MapleStory Universe Web in order to download.
To celebrate the game launch, the official team has prepared many limited-time events and rewards, including the Coin Mount, Opening Party Set, and other special prizes yet to be announced. For detailed event information, please stay tuned to the MapleStory N countdown website to avoid missing the opportunity to claim rewards.
MapleStory N Character Name NFT Early Redemption
Before the official launch of MapleStory N, the official team has opened the “early redemption of character names” for players. If you have previously minted a name NFT through the “Make Special Name” event, you can now start redeeming and binding the name NFT to your game character. After the game is launched, you can directly use that name to enter the game.
If there is no name NFT in your wallet, you can purchase one on the OpenSea platform before redeeming.
For detailed event information, please refer to the following:
- Event Period: From April 29, 2025, until the official announcement of the end time
- Participation Qualification: Players who own a “Name NFT” and have linked their wallet to the MapleStory Universe website
- Redemption Method: Go to the official redemption website
- Note: Names that do not comply with official regulations may be rejected or may not be usable in the game, even if the NFT is successfully minted.
MapleStory N Limited Commemorative Items in Collaboration with OpenSea
To celebrate the launch of MapleStory N, MapleStory Universe has collaborated with OpenSea to launch a limited commemorative event called “Primary Drop Campaign,” where participants can receive special in-game cosmetic items.
The rewards for this event include a non-transferable commemorative NFT “MSU Scroll SBT,” as well as the OpenSea cosmetic chair and NXPC headgear in MapleStory N.
The detailed participation process is as follows:
- Visit the event page
- Click the “Mint” button
- Log in to your OpenSea account
- Confirm the wallet connection, which must use the same account as MapleStory Universe
- Complete the “Mint your item” purchase process (limited to one per wallet)
- After waiting for the transaction to succeed, you can view the SBT obtained on your OpenSea personal page
Note: You need to reserve AVAX in your wallet as transaction fees; otherwise, the minting will not be successful.
What’s Special About Classes and Items in MapleStory N?
MapleStory N shares the same visual style as New MapleStory. According to official information, the classes currently available for players to choose from are “Warrior, Magician, Bowman, Thief, and Pirate,” similar to the original version of MapleStory.
The most notable difference in MapleStory N is that this version centers around a “decentralized economic model.” The game will no longer sell items endlessly through a centralized store, but will instead use a “limited supply” model to mint item NFTs, with each minting requiring a cost, ensuring that items will not be infinitely issued, thus stabilizing the game’s economy. Additionally, these NFTs can be freely bought and sold in the trading market, allowing the market to determine their value.
According to player shares on the gaming forum Bahamut, MapleStory N items are divided into three categories: first, non-tradable and non-mintable common items; second, items that can be directly worn and can also be minted into NFTs; third, items that have already been minted as NFTs and can be traded on the market.
Of course, this information is summarized from player testing, and the item system may be updated after MapleStory N officially launches.
MapleStory N Token Economic System
Currently, there are two types of tokens in the MapleStory metaverse. One is NXPC, a cryptocurrency running on the blockchain that developers or players must use to “mint” new items or to pay transaction fees on the chain.
Additionally, the “NESO” in MapleStory N is similar to game currency (such as MapleStory’s Mesos) and can also be seen as a “wrapped NXPC.” Players can exchange it for NXPC at a fixed ratio for the aforementioned purposes or trade it on exchanges.
